Contractor: Canal Company for harbor and great projects. Nature design calculation submitted to CCHGP. Beginning of activity: June 1994 Brief description of the activity
The design calculation and the drawings for water gates for water purification plants. The objective was the automation of these gates (17 gates) using hydraulic system actuated from the main control room. These gates located on the entrance of the rapid sand filter. The study shows also that automation can save more than 15% of washing water quantity.

The activity consists of design of development of semi rapid sand filter to rapid sand filter of Ismailia water treatment plant. The development uses M-Block concept.
- The Hydraulic calibration of potable water networks for the cities of Suez and Port Said.
Contractor: MetCalf & Eddy Ismailia Branch. Nature: Measurements and calculation Beginning of activity: October 1995 Activity terminated: March 1996 Brief description of the activity:
This project consists of velocity and pressure measurements for the potable water network in both cities of Suez and Port Said. The measurements were performed during 24 hours for several locations to determine the velocity profile and hence enable the calculation of discharge and William Hazen coefficient. This step is an important step before the utilization of any network software for the determination of network parameters. Particularly discharge and pressure. Which enables also forecasting for any future expansion of the net work, and these enable a good management of the net work. This measurement enables also the field engineer to detect the pipeline leakage and Hance the estimation of leakage. Beside the hydraulic measurement, the pump’s performances were also measured. The pump performances were evaluated for Suez plants and Port Said plants. The corresponding h-Q curves were deduced.
